I graduated High School as a State Champion wrestler. I attended Montana State University on a wrestling scholarship and graduated as a Bobcat Hall of Fame 4-year Big Sky wrestling champion with a degree from the Department of Engineering.
I served as a US Army Combat Engineer and am a Vietnam veteran. I received two Bronze Stars; one for heroism in ground combat and one for Meritorious Service.
I graduated from Syracuse University Law School and was a member of the NY Bar Association from 1974 to 2010. I worked at a Fortune 500 company as an in-house Contracts Attorney drafting and negotiating contracts for state and local infrastructure projects.
When I retired in 2007, I chose to retire in Whitefish, where I volunteer at several non-profits. I served as President of the Whitefish Animal Group (WAG) for 9 years. I helped build one of the 10 best dog parks in the US (per USA Today and the New York Times). I have two sons and five grandchildren.
Work with non-profit programs to help provide drug and alcohol addiction counseling and services, job training and housing, and assistance to the homeless.
Support low-income low-interest loans and tax credits and allocate additional funding for the MT Housing Fund.
Work with DEQ for science-based clean-up of polluted land and contaminated water in Flathead county.
